Description: These detailed ink & wash drawings (on one page) depict the exterior and interior of Titian’s birthplace in “Piave de Cadore, Tyrol”. Signed and dated lower left: “J.A. Shearman May 1881”. He also notes that he drew these “from sketches made on the spot 1871″.
James A. Shearman (England/New York 1833-1922) is known for his lithographs, as well as his lithographic firms, Robertson and Shearman (1859) and Hart and Shearman (1861), and he produced commercial ads/labels and architectural prints. Through watercolors and chromolithographs he depicted urban subjects, e.g. New York street scenes.

Condition: Light toning around perimeter, a small spot or two, otherwise very good.
