Description: This splendid “from life” CDV shows a 3/4 length view of Agassiz in lecture mode…drawing on a chalkboard. He boldly signed and dated this photo at the lower margin: “Ls Agassiz 1863”.

Verso has the stamp of D. Appleton & Co. photographers. 4″ x 2 3/8″, ruled border. Item #P00252

Jean Louis Rodolphe Agassiz (1807-1873), multi-discipline scientist, made significant contributions in the fields of zoology, biology, and geology. He was a professor at Harvard University from 1859 until his death in 1873.

Condition: Mounting residue on verso, otherwise very good.
