Description: This wonderful, from life, albumen photograph shows a full standing image of a relaxed Tyndall leaning against a table with a couple of books. Backmark indicates the photograph was published by H. J. Whitlock of Birmingham.

John Tyndall (1820-1893) is known for his study of diamagnetism, infrared radiation, glaciers, and what is now known as “greenhouse effect”.
