Description: The stern visage of Dr. Alden March (1795-1869) is showcased in this original 1860’s CDV photograph. Dr. March was a a leading nineteenth century American physician, surgeon, educator and medical inventor. March is noted as a president of the American Medical Association and the co–founder of Albany Medical College.
The photograph is on a 4″ x 2 3/8″ ruled mount that has the backmark of Churchill & Denison of Albany, NY. There is also the inked identification “Alden March M. D.” at top of verso and “Joel Munsell set” pencilled at the bottom. Item #P00203
Condition: Several stray marks on recto, generally very good condition.
