Description
Description: This pale green silk ribbon commemorates the dedication of the Bunker Hill Monument in 1843. The ribbon has two vignettes: one with founding fathers in the clouds, and one with an image of the obelisk monument. The ribbon reads: “Let it rise, till it meet the sun in his coming, Let the earliest light of the morning gild it, and parting day linger and play on its summit. (Webster’s address) Battle, June 17, 1775. Bunker Hill Monument Commenced June 17, 1825. Completed June 17 1843″.
The ribbon measures: 6 5/8″ x 2 7/16”. Published and sold by G. G. Smith of Boston. Item #AM00340
Condition: A few faint stains from being tipped at the corners to a piece of paper, otherwise good condition.
