Description: In this comprehensive original manuscript record of the Independent Calvinist Church of Sharon, New York the paginated “Table of Contents” lists the Article of Association [signed by Nikolas Jones who was dismissed in 1823  “on the grounds of errors in the principles of his faith . . .” pp. 87]; Record of Marriages; Record of Baptisms; Quarterly Meetings; Reception of New Members; Regular Dismissions [sic]; Register of Deaths; Stated Times of Communion; and Excommunications [of members that were “impertinent in a course of disobedience of the word of god . . .” or “neglecting the ordinances of God’s house. . .” pp.147] and Restorations. Lengthy quarterly meeting entries cite specific members who have taken actions inconsistent to the church’s protocols and are expected to repent or be dealt with appropriately.

The handwritten 10” x 8”  book has suede boards with embossed decorative borders and marbled endpapers and approximately 125 pages of entries. The book is labeled “63” on the spine.  Item #AM00347

Condition: The corners of the boards are bumped.  Page 7/8 is detached. Some scattered soiling and spots. The writing is legible and clear. Generally in very good condition.
