Description: Two horses bookend a group of six people posing for the camera in front of the West Galway House hotel in this charming early 20th century photograph. The two-story building has wrap around porches on both levels and a square sign hanging above the main entrance that reads: “West Galway House”. In more recent years, the building was known and operated as the Top Notch Tavern in Hagaman, NY. That tavern closed and reopened as the Hangloose Tavern and Grill in 2023.

The 5″ x 7″ photograph is on a 6″ x 7 3/4″ mount. A pencil note on verso reads: “Now Top Notch Tavern”. Item #P00237

Condition: Light soil, especially around the perimeter, generally good condition.
