Walter Joseph Phillips (1884-1963) was born in England, but moved to Winnipeg in 1913. He is most known for his woodcuts and watercolors of the lakes of Manitoba, the prairies, and the Rocky Mountains. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts, Canadian Painters Etchers Society, Society of Gravers-Painters in Colour (London), etc.

Condition: Lightly toned, hinging remnants on verso upper edge, generally good condition.
