Description: This wonderful gelatin silver photographic print was most likely produced in the 1970’s from the Farm Security Administration negatives in the collection of the Library of Congress. These images are usually stamped as such on the verso, but this one is dry mounted to a piece of Bainbridge Board (illustration board).
Photograph measures: 7 1/8″ x 9 1/4″, mounted to: 14″ x 17″. Item #P00197
Walker Evans (1903-1975), American photographer, is most well-known for documenting the “Great Depression,” especially in the rural South, while working for the Farm Security Administration.
Condition: A slight 3/4″ “crease” in the sky area, otherwise very good.
