Description: In this short autograph note signed, Hay writes to an unnamed recipient: “Please return me the prescription and oblige Yours Truly John Hay”.

Written on a 7″ x 4 1/2″ sheet of “Department of State Washington” stationery. Item #A01912

John Hay (1838-1905) was for many years Abraham Lincoln’s private secretary. He later served as Secretary of State under President McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt.

Condition: Toned line at upper edge, otherwise very good condition.
