Description: This hefty tome, The Democratic Book 1936, was sold by the Democratic Party as a fundraiser and contains a watercolor image of the White House signed by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Any supporter who paid $250 would receive one of these limited edition volumes, this being number 933 of 2,500 and is personalized with the recipient’s name, William T. Byrne, in gilt letters on the front cover.

William T. Byrne (1876-1952) was a New York State politician who served as a NYS Senator (1923-1936) and a Member of the House of Representatives from New York (1937-1952).

Gilt-stamped mottled brown leather over boards, silk moire end papers, 384 pages, illustrated with numerous ads and portraits. 14 1/2″ x 11 1/4″. Item #A01591

Condition: Corners and spine ends worn, a few small spots on covers, an inked note by William T. Byrne on front flyleaf. Generally good condition with FDR’s neat, bold signature.
