Description
Description: We offer six luncheon knives in the Versailles pattern by Gorham. The elaborately decorated sterling silver handles feature a cherub tangled in fabric. Each piece is monogrammed with an “N”. The Versailles pattern was created by the French sculptor, Antoine Heller and patented in 1888. It is a multi-motif pattern and each piece of this pattern is decorated with a finely detailed figural theme from the Versailles Palace.
Knives are 8 ½” long and have rounded, silver plated blades. They are also marked with Gorham’s touchmarks: a cat, anchor, and gothic “G”, as well as “Sterling” and “Copyrighted 1888”.
