Description: Captured by Harris & Ewing, this stately chest-up profile portrait photograph shows the softly illuminated profile of the 29th President. A facsimile of Harding’s signature is printed at the lower blank margin.
Warren G. Harding (1865-1923) served as President from 1921 until his death from a heart attack in 1923, allowing Calvin Coolidge to succeed to the Presidency. Harding was considered a very popular President at the time of his death, but the posthumous exposure of scandals, including Teapot Dome, as well as an extramarital affair with Nan Britton, eroded his popularity.
