Description: This 5 3/8″ x 3 3/4″ original portrait photograph showcases the serene visage of Shaker Eldress Prudence Stickney (1860-1950). A penciled notation on the verso identifies sitter as: “Eldress Prudence Stickney, Sabbathday Lake [Maine].”

Stickney is known for her work in the Shaker fancy goods industry, particularly the creation of poplar boxes.
