Description: Famed American operatic soprano Zinka Milanov (1906-1989) neatly signed this glamorous chest-up photo of herself dressed as the titular role in Puccini’s Tosca. Milanov gazes forlornly off into the distance bedecked in glimmering jewels, an elaborately embroidered gown, and clutching a fluttery group of large white feathers.

Zinka Milanov was the leading soprano of the Croatian National Theatre from 1928 to 1936 and was a celebrated performer with the Metropolitan Opera in New York City from 1937 to 1966.

10” x 8”. Milanov signed boldly in black ink: “Very sincerely Zinka Milanov”. Item #A01273

Condition: Upper right corner is creased, two short tears in blank margins, overall good condition with a large, bold signature.
