These lines in slightly altered form appear in chapter 8 under the sub-heading of "Yellow, or Silver Pine". The working manuscript page is unsigned and undated, though the book was published in 1894.

This 5 1/2" x 8" sheet is tipped into the beginning of volume one of the Sierra Edition of The Writings of John Muir. We only have the first three volumes of the ten volume set. The books are 8vo, 1/2 leather with marbled boards.
