Description: This striking sterling silver choker necklace has a hefty pendant composed of a sloped circular disc with a sphere at the center that rotates on an axis. The pendant descends from a sterling wire loop with two small orbs that interlock to form a simple clasp. A bold design by Owe Johansson (b. 1939), a Swedish silversmith known for being one of the forerunners of the Modernist Scandinavian movement. His designs are recognized for the use of abstract shapes, raw gemstones, and a textured organic style often referred to as bold, rugged and even “brutal.” Johansson eventually expanded his production to Finland and his works are found in museum collections throughout Europe and the United States.

Verso is marked: “925,” “Made in Finland,” and “Owe Johansson.” Pendant measures 2 3/4″ in diameter and has a 1 3/4″ link connecting it to the choker wire. The choker itself measures: 16″. Item #DA00402
