Description: This early 20th century cabinet card photograph shows the Overlook Mountain House which once stood on Overlook Mountain near Woodstock, NY in the Catskill mountain range. An accompanying typed note reads: “Overlook Mountain House, this being a photograph of the second hotel which was rebuilt on the old foundation, opening June 25th, 1878. This hotel burned down in 1924. The first Overlook Mt. House opened June 15th, 1871, burned down April 1, 1875.” The concrete remains of a third Overlook Mountain House are still standing at the site today.

3 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ photograph is affixed to it’s original rounded-corner mount that measures 4″ x 7″ overall. Item #P00247
