Description: This is a classic regionalist-style winter scene featuring a cozy home with smoke coming from its chimney and a car parked next to the porch.

It is initialed in the plate and has the estate stamp at the lower right corner: “JCM The Estate of John C. Menihan”.

John Menihan (1908-1992) was born in Rochester, NY and had a long career as a painter, muralist and printmaker. He studied with master lithographer Bolton Brown. Numerous prominent institutions have his work in their collections including: The British Museum, Boston Athenaeum, Library of Congress, etc.
