Description: This superb c. 1880 grand tour photograph shows a teaming metropolitan street scene in the middle of what was then called Bombay (as of 1995, Mumbai).

Business signs are easily readable and commerce is visible in action. The population of the city at that time was approximately 3/4 of a million (now more than 12 million).

Image is 7 1/2"x9 1/2" on a mount that measures 8 1/4"x9 3/4". Item #P00100.
