Description: Oklahoma-born artist, Jackson Lee Nesbitt (1913-2008) studied with, and befriended, fellow artist Thomas Hart Benton during the 1930’s and 1940’s. This etching, with its lush tonal variations and rural subject matter, typifies the very core of the American Regionalist art movement.
It is signed in the lower right in graphite: “Jackson Lee Nesbitt” and titled in the lower left: “Watering Place”. It is also signed in the plate: “J. Nesbitt”. Platemark measures: 12″ x 9 1/2″. Printed on a sheet of cream wove paper measuring 15 3/4″ x 12 1/2″. Item #PR00514
Condition: Lightly toned and lightly soiled blank margins, two pieces of hinging tape at upper recto corners, otherwise good condition and a fine, rich impression.
