Description: In this sincere one-page autograph letter signed, the writer Ursula Le Guin apologizes for “stupidly inscrib[ing]” three books to “Michael” instead of Michele.

She hopes the reader does not “mind having [his] name anglicised.” She decidedly adds, “To my mind, it is the reader who makes the book his book, & not a scribble on the title page by the writer, anyhow!” Signed “and apologies / Ursula Le Guin”

Ursula Le Guin (1929- 2018) was an American novelist, poet, essayist, and a children’s book writer, who was awarded five Nebulas and five Hugos among other prizes during her writing career. She was awarded the National Book Foundation Medal in 2014 for distinguished contribution to American letters. She is most known for The Left Hand of Darkness, The Word for World is Forest, The Dispossessed, and The Earthsea series.
