Description: This whimsical and somewhat frenetic color etching was produced in an edition of 150 and is signed in graphite lower right: “Warrington Colescott”. It was the Print Club of Albany’s annual print for 1997.

Warrington Wickham Colescott, Jr. (1921-2018), American artist/printmaker, is best known for his satirical etchings. He spent much of his active career teaching art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His works are in numerous prestigious art institutions, including: Art Institute of Chicago, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria and Albert Museum, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, etc.

Platemark: 14″ x 19″ on a 22 1/2″ x 30″ sheet of “Somerset England” deckle edge paper. Item #PR00683

Condition: Scattered short creases to the extremely wide blank margin, otherwise very good.
