Description: We offer a pencil signed lithograph by Rene Gruau. The composition is 24” X 17 ¾” on 28 1/4” x 21 1/4” Arches paper. The print is editioned AP XVIII/XLV at the lower left and signed at the lower right in graphite. It has a Circle Gallery blindstamp in the left corner and is stamped on the verso: “1990 RENE GRUAU.”. Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was a fashion illustrator with a distinctive, aspirational aesthetic that continues to influence the worlds of fashion, advertising and design. His work was favored by Christian Dior, his sensibility helped to define the legendary brand. Gruau made work for numerous fashion houses and magazines, including Marie-Claire, Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin.

Condition: Faint thumb print size stain at the middle of the right blank margin, otherwise very good.
