Description: We offer a pencil signed lithograph by Rene Gruau. It is 26” x 21” on white japon paper, printed to the margins. The print is editioned 98/300 at the lower left and signed at the lower right. It has a Circle Gallery blindstamp in the left corner and is stamped on the recto: “GRUAU 1988.” Item #PR00519.

Rene Gruau (1909-2004) was a fashion illustrator with a distinctive, aspirational aesthetic that continues to influence the worlds of fashion, advertising and design. His work was favored by Christian Dior, his sensibility helped to define the legendary brand. Gruau made work for numerous fashion houses and magazines, including Marie-Claire, Vogue, Balenciaga, Balmain and Lanvin.
