Description: Beloved American artist Norman Rockwell typed and signed this brief, kind letter to a fan on February 1, 1972. The note reads: “Thank you for your kind letter, and for the birthday greetings. I appreciate all the nice things you said, you were most complimentary. I enjoyed meeting your son, and I know you are very proud of him.”
Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) is known for his paintings that reflect scenes of everyday American life and especially for his cover illustrations forĀ The Saturday Evening Post.
Typed on a 7 3/4″ x 5 7/8″ sheet of Rockwell’s personal stationery that is imprinted: “Norman Rockwell Stockbridge Massachusetts”. Accompanied by a photograph of Rockwell standing in a gallery full of his works, speaking intensely with a bespectacled gentleman. Item #A01480
Condition: Fold line, light toning along top and left blank margins, mounting remnants on verso. Generally very good condition with a large, bold signature.
