Description: In this autograph letter signed Benton writes, in part, to his cousin Blanche [Benton Lonegren]: “…a collection of my writings, 1916 to 1960, is about to be issued by the Kansas University Press. And still another book is being prepared by a New York publisher which will survey all of my work from 1909 to date. I am working on material for that now.”
Thomas Hart Benton (1889-1975), the American artist and muralist, was a full member of the National Academy of Design. He is most associated with his embrace of the Regionalist art movement. Letter is written on a 10 1/2″ x 7 1/4″ sheet of personal stationery imprinted with his name and address. he has signed familiarly, “Tom”.
