Description: In this typed letter signed, Steichen apparently responds to the recipient’s desire to know the greatest influence on his life/work. He writes in full: “While I consider your project most interesting and useful, the only contribution I can make to it is to say that my mother had by far the greatest influence on my life. To make this more clear to you I would have to write a book on the subject and I have neither the time or the inclination to do this. I thank you for your interest.”
