Description: Soon to be Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir signed this Israel Airlines postcard in Hebrew.

In 1967, the previous owner of this postcard was a young man travelling with his father from Zurich to Israel. Meir was also on the flight and the young man’s father encouraged him to get her signature.

Signed on a blank 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ postcard with recto image of an El Al Boeing 7208. Item #A01906

Golda Meir (1898-1978) assumed the role of Prime Minister of Israel in 1969 following the death of Levi Eshkol. She had served as Labor Minister and then Foreign Minister prior to that.
