Description: Renowned Italian operatic soprano Renata Tebaldi (1922-2004) inscribed and signed this black and white real photo postcard with an image of Tebaldi dressed in her role as Floria Tosca for the Metropolitan Opera. The inscription reads: “Renata Tebaldi to John Pitcherale New York 1956″.

Tebaldi was a star of Milan’s La Scala and the Metropolitan Opera. Famed conductor Arturo Toscanini praised her as having the voice of an angel and she is still considered to be one of the greatest and most beloved performers of the 20th century. She had a lengthy career, singing in 1,048 opera performances and 214 concerts.
