William Styron (1925-2006) was a successful American novelist and essayist. He won the 1968 Pulitzer for Fiction for The Confessions of Nat Turner. Sophie’s Choice won the 1980 National Book Award.
John (Giovanni) P. Pitcherale (1919?-1998) was a friend of The Boston Symphony Orchestra. He is also listed as one of the principal correspondents in The Papers of Eleanor Roosevelt.
