Description: American baseball player Stan Musial (1920-2013) signed the back of this postcard that has a Saint Louis, Missouri circular cancellation stamp dated February 4, 1949.
“Stan the Man” played 22 seasons (1941-1944, 1946-1963) of Major League baseball as an outfielder and first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals. He had a .331 career batting average, won MVP three times and three World Series Championships. Musial was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2011.
