Description: Acclaimed Belgian coloratura soprano Blanche Arral (1864-1945) boldly inscribed and signed this glamorous black and white portrait photograph on May 6, 1935. In the waist-up image, a smiling Arral dons a luxurious coat with a resplendent feathered stole, hat tipped at a jaunty angle. A cascading string of pearls adorn her neck and drape over a large gemstone brooch pinned to her dress, while gems glitter on the elaborate ring decorating her lifted hand. On the verso she has noted that the photograph was taken in March of 1935.
