Description: Founder of the Eastman Kodak Company, George Eastman (1854-1932) signed this typed letter to Pach Brothers thanking them for sending him a photograph. He says, “I have one of your pictures made at the same time but am glad to have this one also.” Pach Brothers was a photography studio in New York City often patronized by the rich and famous.
Eastman popularized photography for mainstream consumers by encouraging the use of roll film, He was also a major philanthropist, founding schools of dentistry and medicine as well as the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. He donated to numerous universities, including the Rochester Institute of Technology, MIT, and several historically black universities.

Condition: Fold lines, mounting remnants on verso with some glue bleed-through to recto, otherwise in good condition with a large, bold signature.
