In this one-page typed letter signed , Sir Gilbert Parker profusely thanks Mr. Nelson ‘for “the magnificent volume on ‘Preparedness and America’s International Program’ in ‘The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science’.” He is especially delighted as he is able to follow “what . . . leading men are thinking on this vital question of preparedness” regarding WWI.
Typed on 10” x 8” stationery bearing the address: “20, Carlton House Terrace, London S. W.” and dated: “2nd August, 1916”. Item #A01935
Sir Gilbert Parker (1862-1932) was a Canadian born British writer of historical novels and political tracts. He was a prominent imperialist, WWI British propagandist, and Member of Parliament 1900-1918. He was knighted in 1902.
