Description: In this one page autograph letter signed, Stowe writes to an unknown artist: “Dear Sir It was a pleasure to me to sit for you & I enjoyed your visit very much & should be happy to have the pleasure of seeing you again. Thank you for the artist proofs which arrived all safely, & gave us all great pleasure. Wishing you all deserved success as an artist. I remain, Ever Your Friend H.B. Stowe”.
Letter is written from Hartford, CT on March 6, 1889 and signed “H.B. Stowe”.
Harriet Elisabeth Beecher Stowe (1811-1896), author and abolitionist, is best known for her authorship of the 1852 classic Uncle Tom’s Cabin.
8″ x 5″ letter is archivally matted with an image of a seated Stowe to: 14 1/2″ x 17 1/2″.
Condition: Mailing fold lines, otherwise very good.
