Description: Dr. Jonathan Eights (1773-1848) of Albany, NY writes to R. Van Rensselaer Esq. asking for “a little indulgence” in paying off his debts. He requests an arrangement in which, “I should put in the hands of H. Wendell Esq. accounts for collection which when collected should be paid to Mr. Luce”.
Eights studied medicine with Albany doctors Wilhelmus Mancius and Hunlock Woodruff. He started a medical practice at 92 North Pearl St. in Albany that served the community for half a century.
Stampless cover written on two sides of a sheet of stationery folded to: 8” x 6 ½”. Item #AM00222.
Condition: Pencil notes made by previous owner that identifies Dr. Eights as the family physician, otherwise in very good condition.
