Description: This wonderful copperplate engraved bird’s-eye view shows the important Dutch city of Haarlem at the time of its economic and population growth.
This map was part of a six volume atlas of towns, Civitates Orbis Terrarum, published by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg in 1575. Title reads in part: “Haarlemum, Sive ut Ha: Barlan Herlemum Urbs Hollandiae Famosa…”
Platemark measures: 13 1/2″ x 18 1/2″ on an 18″ x 22″ sheet. Item #DA00469
Condition: Some errant spots and short creases to blank margins, generally very good condition.
