Description: This original photograph shows a gaggle of men casually leaning on the wings and tail of a WWI era biplane in a field with two additional boater hat-sporting gentlemen posing with a camera on a tripod. A large, bold 43 is painted on the side of the plane as well as “Taliaferro Field, Texas” and “Men Wanted…” The tail of the plane has a list of cities: Cleveland, Buffalo, Albany, Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., Providence, Watertown, and Toronto.
Camp Taliaferro was a World War I flight-training center run under the direction of the Air Service of the United States Army in the Fort Worth, Texas area.
