Description: We offer three original photographs of cowboys in the Gila River area of New Mexico. Two of the photographs show several cowboys fording the Gila with their pack-laden horses. Both are labelled in ink on the mount: “Crossing the River” and “Crossing the Gila N. M.” The third photo shows a grassy clearing with trees in the background and is labelled in pen on the mount: “Our Camp N. M.”

The photographs with the horses and cowboys both have a small inked “x” near a cowboy on his horse, perhaps identifying the previous owner of these images. All three images measure approximately 4″ x 4 3/4″ and are adhered to thick card mounts that measure 5 1/2″ x 6 1/2″. Item #P00170

Condition: Overall soil, light wear at corners of mounts, one of the photos has only fair contrast. Generally good condition.
