Size: 7 3/8″ x 5″. Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Bound by R. W. Smith. Half black leather with gilt-stamping along spine and marbled paper over boards, a red spine label, marbled end papers, 165 pages. This book is extra-illustrated with additional tipped-in images and includes an 1840 autograph letter signed by Robert Grosvenor, Marquis of Westminster as well as a tipped-in autograph of Robert Brerewood, identified as the Mayor of Chester in 1538. There is another tipped-in autograph note signed though the signature is inscrutable. Wear at extremities, marbled paper scuffed, some of the fold-out illustrations reinforced (and stained) with tape, others have short paper separations at folds. Quantity Available: 1.
