Size: 12mo – over 6¾” – 7¾” tall. Full leather, gilt decorated on spine and along all edges of the boards, all edges marbled, end papers marbled, xv + 340 pp., Index, frontis and 15 photographs. This copy has the bookplate of Francis Du Plat Taylor (1878-1954) British dock and reclamation engineer, and author of books on these subjects. The book contains a gift notation to Taylor on the front flyleaf: “Francis Maurice Gustavis Du Plat Taylor, Upper Fourth Form Prize, Farnborough School, Easter 1892.” Boards are separating at spine and back board is detached, leather worn at spine ends and corners, some scuffing, some discoloration on back board; interior is clean, no writing or marks, and binding is tight.
