Bookplate of Peter Gerard Stuyvesant (1778-1847) an American landowner, philanthropist and descendant of Peter Stuyvesant who was prominent in New York society in the 1600s. He was president of the New York Historical Society from 1836-1839. Covers and spine ends worn, stains on text block edges, frontispiece toned, two pages loose, scattered foxing.
