Leather spine with gilt spine label, marbled paper over boards, pp. [iv], 551-1127, [ix]. Includes significant Georgia history: James Oglethorpe and other trustees are named (February); the charter is granted by the King and has received its final approvals to establish Georgia (August); the ship “Ann” with Oglethorpe and the first settlers sets sail (November). Also has “A Description of the Province of South Carolina” (August). Covers worn, leather chipping, scuffs to marbled paper, front hinge cracked, board still attached though loosened.
