Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text contains minor marks/notes in pencil. This copy presumably once belonged to Amy Bess Miller’s mother, Elizabeth Taft Williams, and is signed by Amy Bess Miller and Persis Wellington Fuller on the dedication page: “With dearest love from Amy Bess and Pers.” There are a couple of envelopes addressed to Mrs. Frederick Williams and newspaper clippings related to the release of the book in 1970. Amy Bess Miller also has written: “This is my own copy — not to lown [sic] as I really need it – Amy Bess W. Miller”. Gilt-stamped olive green cloth over boards, (xix), 457 pages, Index. Top and bottom edges sunned, corners and spine ends lightly bumped, brief underlining in pen on page xv, a few instances of toning from where the newspaper clippings were inserted in the book. Illustrated dust jacket is bumped and worn at corners and spine ends, tear at bottom corner, spine sunned, some light scratches and staining.
