Description / Comments:
Size: Octavo (standard book size). Text body is clean, and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting. Stapled gray wraps, 43 pages, References, illustrated in b & w. This short booklet was written for the author’s third grade students in a Schenectady elementary school to give them a knowledge of the history of Schenectady. While written for third-graders, there is a lot of detail, and it is well-written (perhaps third-graders had bigger vocabularies in 1931?). Throughout the book, slips of paper with type-written comments are tipped in, the sort that make up “Notes” or footnotes. This may have been a working copy for the author, or the notes were added by the publisher like this rather than adding them in the usual fashion. Back wraps has a water stain and throughout the book the pages have a wavy quality and some faint damp stains. There is no mildew odor whatsoever, though. Otherwise, the text is clean and unmarked, no writing or notations; binding is sound. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: 1 lb 4 oz. Category: Genealogy & Local History; Books; History.
