Half red leather with marbled paper over boards, gilt stamping along spine, top edge gilt, marbled end papers, 163 pages, plus 2 pages of ads. “Translated by the Author of the ‘Exile of India’ etc.” This book is signed by Winthrop Mackworth Praed (1802-1839) the English poet and politician. Light wear at corners and spine ends, previous owner’s bookplate on front paste-down and signature on title page, previous owner has tipped in a newspaper clipping about Winthrop Mackworth Praed that has toned the surrounding paper.
