Both volumes: nicely bound in half gilt-stamped leather and marbled paper over boards, top edges gilt, marbled end papers; Volume I: frontispiece, (xiv), 508 pages, 9 illustrations; Volume II: frontispiece, (vii), 532 pages, Index, 6 illustrations. Both volumes have some wear on corners, more wear on Volume II, toning at edges of marbled paper on covers and end papers, top edges of text block soiled, some of the illustrations have toning around edges as well.
