Description: In this classic part-printed vellum document Lincoln appoints William Green as Boatswain in the U.S. Navy. Lincoln has signed boldly at the lower right and Gideon Welles has signed at the lower left as Secretary of the Navy.

Document measures 16″ x 13″ and is archivally matted with a pencil signed portrait etching by Jacques Reich and framed to: 23″ x 30 1/2″. Item #A01682

Condition: Fold lines, general light soil, Welles’ signature light, otherwise good condition with a strong Abraham Lincoln signature and its original embossed paper seal intact. An attractively presented uncommon naval appointment.
