Maroon cloth over boards, gilt lettering on spine, 359 pages, includes a few illustrations, inscribed by the author on a front flyleaf. Title continues: “The Town From its First Settlement, Through the Revolutionary War, to the Present Time–Its Churches–Schools–College–Theological Seminary–Literature, Volumes and Authors–Notices of Prominent Families, and Chief Citizens–The Cemetery, etc.” Wear at extremities, cloth is sun-faded in places, a numbered sticker is at foot of spine, dampstaining at bottom corners, bottom third of one plate is stained.
